Description

He comes while you’re sleeping and pours a fine pale sand over you, soft as a lullaby, and you simply don’t wake up. The sand is two things: a drug that holds you under, and the ground-up bone of everyone who slept before you.

The dead are found peaceful, untouched, a faint dusting of pale grit on the pillow and the lashes.
